Terms of Use
Effective October 20, 2026. The legally binding terms that govern your use of https://homeknowledge.com, operated by Cupcakes Holdings LTD.
Effective date: October 20, 2026 Last updated: October 20, 2026
Welcome to Home Knowledge. These Terms of Use (the "Terms") form a legally binding agreement between you and Cupcakes Holdings LTD, a company incorporated in the State of Israel ("Cupcakes Holdings", "we", "us" or "our"), the owner and operator of homeknowledge.com, its subdomains, feeds, newsletters (if offered), social media pages operated under the Home Knowledge name, and all related content and services (collectively, the "Site" or the "Services").
Please read these Terms carefully. By accessing, browsing or otherwise using the Services, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms, our Privacy Policy, our Cookie Policy, our Editorial Policy, our Disclaimer and our Copyright Policy, each of which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. If you do not agree, you must not use the Services.
The only way to contact us about these Terms is by email at [email protected].
1. Eligibility
1.1 The Services are intended for a general adult audience. You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your country, if higher) to use the Services. If you are under 18, you confirm that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.
1.2 You may not use the Services if you are barred from doing so under the laws of any applicable jurisdiction, or if we have previously suspended or terminated your access.
1.3 If you use the Services on behalf of a company or other organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation, and "you" refers to that organisation as well as to you personally.
2. Changes to these Terms
2.1 We may revise these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top indicates when they were last changed. Material changes will be highlighted on the Site.
2.2 Changes take effect when posted, except that changes affecting dispute resolution will not apply to disputes of which we had actual notice before the change. Your continued use of the Services after a change becomes effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to a change, you must stop using the Services.
3. The Services
3.1 Home Knowledge publishes original stories, explainers, features and related media about homes, design, DIY, real estate and homeowner stories. Content is made available free of charge and is funded primarily by advertising and, where disclosed, affiliate relationships.
3.2 We may add, change, suspend or discontinue any part of the Services, including any story, feature, section or feed, at any time, with or without notice, and without liability to you.
3.3 We do not guarantee that the Services, or any particular content, will be available at any particular time or location, or that they will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free.
4. Licence to use the Site
4.1 Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable licence to access and view the Services on a compatible device for your own personal, non-commercial, informational and entertainment purposes.
4.2 Permitted sharing. You may: (a) share links to pages on the Site by any means; (b) quote short excerpts (generally no more than 50 words from any single story) for commentary, criticism, news reporting, teaching or research, provided you clearly attribute Home Knowledge as the source and include a link to the original page; and (c) use the social sharing buttons we provide, subject to the terms of the relevant platform.
4.3 All rights not expressly granted to you are reserved by Cupcakes Holdings and its licensors.
5. Prohibited conduct
You agree not to, and not to attempt to, or assist or permit any other person to:
(a) copy, reproduce, republish, distribute, display, sell, license, rent, frame, mirror or create derivative works from the Services or any content, except as expressly permitted in Section 4; (b) use any robot, spider, crawler, scraper, script, browser automation or other automated means to access, collect, harvest, index or download content or data from the Services, except general-purpose search engines that comply with our robots.txt file and only for the purpose of creating publicly available search indexes; (c) use any content from the Services to train, fine-tune, ground, evaluate or otherwise develop any artificial intelligence or machine learning model, large language model, dataset or similar technology, or include it in any retrieval-augmented generation system, without our prior express written permission; (d) remove, obscure or alter any copyright, trademark, attribution, image credit or other proprietary notice; (e) frame the Site or present its content as your own or in a way that suggests sponsorship or endorsement by us; (f) interfere with, disrupt, overload or impair the Services, servers or networks, including by denial-of-service attacks, excessive requests, or introducing viruses, malware or other harmful code; (g) probe, scan or test the vulnerability of the Services or breach any security or authentication measures, except through responsible disclosure to [email protected]; (h) generate invalid, fraudulent or automated clicks, impressions or other interactions with advertisements on the Services, or encourage others to do so; (i) use ad-blocking circumvention, cookie manipulation or similar techniques intended to defraud advertisers or us; (j) impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity, including any of our editors or staff; (k) use the Services for any unlawful, fraudulent, harassing, defamatory, obscene or harmful purpose, or in violation of any applicable law or regulation, including export control and sanctions laws; (l) send us unsolicited bulk communications, spam or chain messages; or (m) circumvent, disable or otherwise interfere with any feature that limits use of content or enforces these Terms.
We may investigate and take any action we consider appropriate, including blocking access and reporting to law enforcement, in response to any breach of this Section.
6. Intellectual property
6.1 Our content. The Services and their contents, including all text, stories, headlines, summaries, editorial selection and arrangement, graphics, logos, the "Home Knowledge" name and marks, page layouts, code, design, look and feel, and all compilations thereof, are owned by or licensed to Cupcakes Holdings LTD and are protected by copyright, trademark, database rights and other intellectual property laws of Israel, the United States, the European Union and other countries and international treaties.
6.2 Third-party materials. Many images, artworks, maps, documents and photographs that appear on the Site are owned by third parties. They are used under licence (including Creative Commons licences), are in the public domain, or are used as permitted by law, including fair use under US law and fair dealing or equivalent exceptions elsewhere. Credits and licence information are provided alongside the material wherever practicable. These materials remain the property of their respective owners, and your use of them is subject to the applicable licence terms and law, not to any licence from us. Our inclusion of a public domain or openly licensed work does not grant you rights beyond those the original licence or law provides.
6.3 Trademarks. "Home Knowledge", our logos and any other marks we use are trademarks of Cupcakes Holdings LTD. Third-party names and marks are the property of their owners and are used for identification only. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use any of these marks.
6.4 Licensing requests. If you would like to republish, syndicate, translate or license our content, email [email protected] with details of the intended use.
7. Feedback and submissions
7.1 If you send us corrections, comments, suggestions, story ideas, tips or other materials ("Submissions"), you grant us a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, fully paid, transferable and sublicensable licence to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, distribute and display those Submissions in any media, without compensation or attribution to you, except where attribution is required by law or we choose to give it.
7.2 You represent that you own or have the necessary rights to any Submission, and that it does not infringe the rights of any third party or violate any law.
7.3 We are not obliged to use, respond to or keep confidential any Submission. Please do not send us unsolicited manuscripts, creative works or confidential information.
8. Copyright complaints
We respect the intellectual property rights of others. If you believe material on the Services infringes your copyright, please follow the procedure in our Copyright Policy, sending your notice to [email protected] with the subject line "Copyright notice". We respond to valid notices in accordance with the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512), the EU Digital Services Act and other applicable laws, and we may terminate access for repeat infringers.
9. Accuracy, corrections and no professional advice
9.1 We work hard to make our content accurate and fair, in line with our Editorial Policy. However, historical scholarship evolves, sources disagree, and errors can occur. Content is provided for general informational, educational and entertainment purposes only and may include interpretation, simplification and opinion.
9.2 Nothing on the Services constitutes legal, financial, investment, tax, medical, psychological, genealogical, academic or other professional advice. You should not rely on the Services as a substitute for consulting primary sources or qualified professionals. See our Disclaimer for more information.
9.3 If you believe any content is inaccurate, email [email protected] with the subject line "Correction", the page URL and a description of the issue. We review every correction request.
10. Advertising, sponsorship and affiliate links
10.1 The Services display advertising, which may be served by third-party advertising networks and may be personalised in accordance with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
10.2 Some links on the Services may be affiliate links, meaning we may earn a commission if you make a purchase after clicking. Sponsored content, if any, will be clearly labelled.
10.3 Advertisers, sponsors and merchants are solely responsible for their products, services, offers and claims. Any transaction you enter into with them is solely between you and them. We do not endorse, warrant or guarantee any advertised product or service.
11. Third-party sites and services
The Services may contain links to, or embedded content from, third-party websites, archives, museums, platforms and services that we do not own or control. We provide these for convenience and reference only. We are not responsible for their content, availability, accuracy, terms, privacy practices or security, and a link does not imply endorsement. Your use of third-party sites is at your own risk and subject to their terms.
12. Social media
Your interactions with our pages on Facebook, Instagram and other platforms are subject to the terms and policies of those platforms. We may remove comments or block users on our pages at our discretion, including for spam, harassment, hate speech, misinformation or off-topic content.
13. Disclaimer of warranties
13.1 TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE SERVICES AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY OR OTHERWISE, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, QUIET ENJOYMENT, AND ANY WARRANTIES ARISING FROM COURSE OF DEALING OR USAGE OF TRADE.
13.2 WITHOUT LIMITING THE FOREGOING, WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICES WILL MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS, BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, TIMELY OR ERROR-FREE, THAT DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED, OR THAT THE SERVICES OR THE SERVERS THAT MAKE THEM AVAILABLE ARE FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS.
13.3 Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of the above exclusions may not apply to you. In that case, such warranties are limited to the minimum extent and duration permitted by law.
14. Limitation of liability
14.1 TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL CUPCAKES HOLDINGS LTD, ITS AFFILIATES, OR THEIR RESPECTIVE DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, SHAREHOLDERS, EMPLOYEES, EDITORS, CONTRACTORS, AGENTS, LICENSORS OR SERVICE PROVIDERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, OPPORTUNITY OR REPUTATION, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SERVICES OR THESE TERMS, WHETHER BASED ON CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), STRICT LIABILITY OR ANY OTHER THEORY, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
14.2 TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICES OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS (USD 100).
14.3 Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or, for consumers in the EEA and UK, for gross negligence or wilful misconduct.
14.4 The limitations in this Section reflect a reasonable allocation of risk and form an essential basis of the bargain between you and us. The Services are provided free of charge and would not be provided without these limitations.
15. Indemnity
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Cupcakes Holdings LTD and its affiliates and their respective directors, officers, employees, editors, contractors, agents and licensors from and against all claims, demands, actions, losses, liabilities, damages, costs and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to: (a) your use or misuse of the Services; (b) your breach of these Terms; (c) your violation of any law or the rights of any third party; or (d) any Submission you provide. We reserve the right to assume the exclusive defence and control of any matter subject to indemnification, in which case you agree to cooperate with our defence.
16. Suspension and termination
16.1 We may suspend, restrict or terminate your access to all or part of the Services at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms.
16.2 Sections 5 through 7 and 9 through 22 survive any termination or expiry of these Terms.
17. Governing law
These Terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or the Services (including non-contractual disputes or claims), are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.
18. Dispute resolution
18.1 Informal resolution first. Before starting any formal proceeding, you agree to contact us at [email protected] with the subject line "Dispute", describing the nature of your claim and the relief you seek. We will try to resolve the matter informally within 60 days.
18.2 Jurisdiction. Subject to Section 18.3, the competent courts of Tel Aviv-Jaffa, Israel, have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services, and you and we irrevocably submit to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
18.3 Consumers. If you are a consumer resident in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland or another jurisdiction whose laws grant you mandatory rights, nothing in these Terms deprives you of the protection of the mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence.
18.4 Online dispute resolution. The European Commission provides an online dispute resolution platform, accessible via the European Commission's website. We are not obliged, and do not undertake, to participate in alternative dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
18.5 Class action waiver. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, any proceedings will be conducted only on an individual basis and not as a class, consolidated or representative action.
18.6 Time limit. To the fullest extent permitted by law, any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services must be brought within one (1) year after the cause of action arose; otherwise it is permanently barred.
19. Notices
19.1 We may give you notices by posting them on the Services or, if you have emailed us, by email to the address you used.
19.2 You must give any notice to us, including legal notices, by email to [email protected]. Notices are deemed received when we acknowledge them.
20. Export and sanctions
You represent that you are not located in, or a resident or national of, any country subject to comprehensive sanctions, and that you are not on any government list of prohibited or restricted parties. You agree to comply with all applicable export control and sanctions laws in your use of the Services.
21. Accessibility
We are committed to making the Services accessible. See our Accessibility Statement, and email [email protected] with the subject line "Accessibility" if you encounter any barrier.
22. General
22.1 Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the policies incorporated by reference, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Services and supersede any prior agreements.
22.2 Severability. If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permissible and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
22.3 No waiver. Our failure to enforce any right or provision is not a waiver of that right or provision.
22.4 Assignment. You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign or transfer these Terms, in whole or in part, without restriction, including in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
22.5 No third-party beneficiaries. Except as provided in Section 15, these Terms do not confer any rights on any third party.
22.6 Force majeure. We are not liable for any failure or delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including acts of God, war, hostilities, terrorism, civil unrest, pandemics, labour disputes, governmental action, failure of utilities, internet or hosting providers, or cyberattacks.
22.7 Relationship. No agency, partnership, joint venture or employment relationship is created between you and us by these Terms.
22.8 Headings and interpretation. Headings are for convenience only. The words "including" and "include" mean "including without limitation".
22.9 Language. These Terms are drafted in English. Any translation is provided for convenience, and the English version prevails to the extent permitted by law.
